Swarovski to open Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk



On 02 February 2017 in Gdansk, Swarovski, leading manufacturer of precision cut crystal since 1895 and a world-renowned brand that adds sparkle to everything from jewelry, watches, fashion accessories to couture fashion and state-of-the-art lighting technology, opened a new business location. The new location will host Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub which will be built up gradually and in line with the company’s values over the next years.


In order to retain its strongly competitive global position, Swarovski continuously looks for ways to improve and adapt its business and processes to stay one step ahead. The opening of the company’s Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk is part of a global initiative to ensure that the Finance & Administration function stays a high performing partner, positioned to support Swarovski’s ongoing success. As part of this initiative, selected activities of Swarovski’s Finance & Administration function will be bundled in Gdańsk.

“Following a very thorough evaluation process we have decided to establish the hub of Swarovski’s Global Business Services in Gdańsk which will be built up gradually. The Polish authorities have been highly professional and engaged in their support for us. This has created a solid foundation for a long-term commitment”, stated Marcel Angst, Executive Vice President Global Operations Finance & Administration.

Swarovski was officially welcomed in Gdańsk at a festive gathering on February 2, 2017. Numerous VIP guests attended the sparkling event and expressed pleasure concerning Swarovski’s business commitment to the region.

“The announcement today is evidence of our increasing credibility and attractiveness to global companies exploring the opportunity to develop within the Pomeranian region and we proudly welcome Swarovski to Pomerania today”, says Mieczyslaw Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodship, and adds: “This is also the result of a successful cooperation between representatives of national and local authorities as well as partners of the Invest in Pomerania initiative.”

Swarovski’s new business location in Gdańsk will be built up gradually: The Managing Director has begun to form a small team and to take up the work activities on a continuous basis. The opening of the permanent office facilities of Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub will take place in summer 2017.
