Whirlpool opens SSC in Łódź
Breaking news in the SSC sector in Poland! After acquisition of Indesit Company, Whirlpool is coming to Łódź with a new Shared Service Centre! The office will hold all financial actions and support accounting in the entire EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Region.
This weekend, residents of Łódź could be spectators of the official inauguration of the new office in their city, at the presence of the Mayor, Hanna Zdanowska.
A detailed analysis of financial and accounting operations in the EMEA region influenced the decision on establishing a new Centre in order to improve efficiency. The Łódź centre operates a new integrated financial processes model for the entire EMEA region, and incorporates Indesit Shared Services Centre which operated in Łódź for many years.
According to Andrea Maciardi, Director of Whirlpool EMEA Shared Services, “Poland is one of the most important countries in the EMEA region in terms of quality and the pace of development of industrial structures, […] it is an optimal, strategic location for the Shared Services Centre.”
The new Whirlpool’s office is located in a modern, innovative area called the “New Centre of Lodz.” It occupies over 5000 m2 and employs almost 270 people. It is adjusted to standards of the company regarding high-quality workplace conditions.
Good news for students: The company is willing to establish cooperation with local and international talents that will contribute to a progressive growth of the SSC through partnering with local universities.
